Effective date: October 14, 2026. Version 1.
These Challenge Participation Rules ("Rules") govern participation in the challenges and raffles held in the ColorWave mobile application ("App"). These Rules supplement the ColorWave Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By accepting these Rules in the App or by taking part in a challenge, you agree to abide by them.
1.1. Challenges and raffles are organized by ColorWave ("Organizer", "we", "us"). Details of the Organizer and our contact information are set out in the Terms of Service.
1.2. A "challenge" is a task in the App in which participants color pages from coloring books on a given theme and submit photos of their work. A "raffle" is a challenge at the end of which prize winners are drawn at random from among the participants who have met its conditions.
1.3. These Rules apply to all types of challenges listed in Section 3.5.
1.4. Each challenge has its own conditions, published on its page in the App: the theme, stages, dates, requirements for works, and prizes (the "challenge rules"). If the challenge rules contain conditions that differ from, or are more detailed than, these Rules, the challenge rules take precedence.
1.5. Before you submit your first work to a challenge, the App shows you the key provisions of these Rules and a link to their full text. By tapping "I accept the rules", you confirm that you have read these Rules and the challenge rules and agree to comply with them. We record the date and time of your acceptance and the version of the Rules you accepted.
1.6. Apple, Google, Meta, and Instagram do not organize or sponsor the challenges or raffles and are not involved in running them.
2.1. Any App user who is at least 16 years old may take part in challenges. If a raffle winner is under 18 years of age, the prize is awarded as described in Section 10.9.
2.2. Each participant may use only one account.
2.3. Free challenges are open to all users. Without a ColorWave Pro subscription, you may join one new challenge every 7 days: the next challenge becomes available 7 days after you joined the previous one, or when the previous one ends, whichever comes first. Raffles count toward this limit.
2.4. Pro-only challenges are available while you have an active ColorWave Pro subscription, including during a free trial.
2.5. In partially open challenges, the first stages or cards are available to all users, and the rest are available with an active Pro subscription. The number of open stages or cards is stated in the challenge rules. Partially open challenges do not count toward the limit set out in Section 2.3.
2.6. If your Pro subscription ends during a challenge, the Pro-only stages and cards are locked. You may still submit a work for a card that is already open. Works that have been accepted and any badge you have earned are kept. If you renew your subscription while the challenge is still running, you may continue taking part.
2.7. A Pro subscription gives you access to challenges but does not guarantee that your works will be accepted or that you will receive a badge or a prize. In raffles, a Pro subscription does not give you any additional chances of winning.
3.1. To participate, tap "Take part" on the challenge page and submit your works before the challenge ends. You may join before the challenge starts. In some challenges, enrollment closes once the challenge has started; this is indicated on the challenge page.
3.2. Works are not accepted after a challenge has ended. A challenge may have no end date.
3.3. While a challenge is running, you may remove your work from it. If, without that work, you no longer meet the requirements for completing the challenge, your badge is revoked.
3.4. You may leave a challenge. If you do not have a Pro subscription and have already submitted a work, you may leave once the challenge has ended or 7 days after joining it. Works you have submitted remain in the challenge after you leave. If enrollment is closed, you cannot rejoin a challenge after leaving it.
3.5. The App offers the following types of challenges:
a) standard — one or more works on a given theme, or one work for each theme on a list;
b) with stages — each stage has its own task; stages open one after another, on a set day or on a set date;
c) with cards — a card specifies a book from your library and a condition for the work; only one card is open at a time; tapping "Can't be done" replaces the card up to two times, and on the third tap you draw a joker, which cannot be replaced;
d) quiz — at each stage you must identify a character and color a page featuring that character; you may change the difficulty level until you submit your first work; results are published after review;
e) time capsule — your work and a message to yourself are sealed until the opening date and are not visible to anyone until then;
f) raffle — in addition to the work, you must submit photos showing your personal code and, in some raffles, a social media post (Section 10).
4.1. Follow the challenge rules. The theme, stages, and other requirements are set out in the rules of each challenge. Requirements may relate to the subject matter, the number of characters, using a two-page spread instead of a single page, the choice of books, colors, or palette. It must be clear from the illustration itself that the work fits the theme; a caption cannot make up for this.
4.2. Color specifically for the challenge. Start your work after the challenge begins, unless its rules specify a different starting point (for example, after you draw a card or after a stage opens). Pages started or finished earlier are not accepted, even if they fit the theme. The App compares the date the page was completed with the date of the photo; the moderator assesses the work as a whole and may ask you for work-in-progress photos.
4.3. Submit your own work. Only works you have colored yourself are accepted. Works colored by another person or created using artificial intelligence (AI), as well as photos that are not your own, are not accepted. Permitted coloring methods (for example, digital coloring or coloring a printout of the page) are determined by the challenge rules.
4.4. If your work is rejected, choose a different one. A rejected work may not be resubmitted to the same challenge, including after it has been re-photographed or recolored, or for a different stage. This does not apply where the moderator has invited you to rework it (for example, to finish coloring the background) or to move it to a different stage. A rejected work may be submitted to another challenge if it meets that challenge's conditions.
4.5. Repeated violations may lead to disqualification from challenges. The decision to disqualify a participant is made by a moderator in accordance with Section 7.
5.1. You may submit a page to a challenge if it is marked as completed in your library and has a photo.
5.2. The photo must show that specific page, in full and clearly, with no filters that alter the colors and no collages of several pages, unless the challenge rules provide otherwise.
5.3. The page must be fully colored, with no uncolored areas or visible numbers, unless the challenge rules allow otherwise.
5.4. A page may be used in only one challenge at a time, and in only one place within it: one stage, one card, or one theme.
5.5. Captions must not contain advertising, links, insults, or personal information of others (see Section 5 of the Terms of Service).
6.1. Your work appears in the challenge as soon as you submit it and is reviewed by a moderator later. In quizzes, a work with the correct answer is credited once it has been reviewed.
6.2. Works are reviewed both while the challenge is running and after it has ended. In raffles, all works are reviewed before the draw.
6.3. If a work does not comply with these Rules or the challenge rules, the moderator removes it from the challenge and states the reason. The reason and the moderator's comment are shown in the challenge in the language of your App. While the challenge is running, you also receive a push notification.
6.4. While the challenge is running, you may submit a different work in place of the removed one, subject to Section 4.4. Once the challenge has ended, no replacement is possible; if, without the removed work, you do not meet the requirements for completing the challenge, your badge is revoked.
6.5. A work is removed for one of the following reasons:
a) "The work breaks the challenge rules" — the work does not comply with Section 4: for example, it was started before the challenge began or before the card was drawn, it was resubmitted after being rejected, or the photo does not match the page in your library;
b) "The work doesn't match the challenge theme" — a condition of the challenge or stage has not been met: for example, the page shows several characters instead of one, it depicts the wrong character or scene, the setting is not visible, a single page was submitted instead of a spread, or the pages were taken from the same book instead of different books;
c) "The work isn't fully coloured" — uncolored areas remain, or numbers or outlines are visible;
d) "The colours don't match what the challenge required" — the work was not done in the colors or palette set by the challenge;
e) "The work doesn't meet the card's condition" — in challenges with cards, the work does not match the condition on the card you drew;
f) "This is a duplicate or not your own work" — the work has already been submitted to the challenge or was not colored by you.
6.6. The reasons for rejecting photos and posts in raffles are set out in Section 10.3.
7.1. The removal of an individual work is not a penalty: you can simply submit a different work. The measures set out in this Section apply to repeated or serious violations. Decisions are made by a moderator; participants are not disqualified automatically.
7.2. Measures are applied in the following order:
a) removal of a work, with the reason stated (Section 6);
b) a warning — for a repeated violation in a challenge; the warning appears in the notice that the work has been removed and means that the next violation may result in disqualification;
c) disqualification from the challenge — if violations continue after a warning; the participant receives a push notification, and the challenge shows the reason for disqualification, the relevant section of these Rules, and the removed works.
7.3. If violations recur in other challenges, the moderator may disqualify the participant from each such challenge without a further warning.
7.4. Decisions take into account violations committed within the preceding 90 days.
7.5. A participant may be disqualified without warning for the following serious violations:
a) submitting someone else's work as your own, including photos taken from the internet;
b) using multiple accounts, including to increase your chances in a raffle or to get around a disqualification;
c) attempting to deceive the review process: changing the date of a work, resubmitting a rejected work after re-photographing or editing it, or using a fake code in a raffle;
d) submitting an AI-generated work as one you colored yourself;
e) insulting, or putting pressure on, participants or moderators.
7.6. A disqualified participant may not submit works to that challenge or rejoin it and is not entered into that challenge's raffle, even if their works have been accepted. The moderator may either keep the accepted works in the challenge or remove them; if they are removed, the badge for the challenge is revoked.
7.7. Disqualification does not affect your account, library, photos, or participation in other challenges. Your ColorWave Pro subscription remains in effect; payments and refunds are governed by the rules of the app store or payment service through which you purchased the subscription.
7.8. Information about a disqualification is visible only to the disqualified participant and is not shown to other users.
8.1. If you believe that your work was removed or that you were disqualified by mistake, write to us in the App: "Edit profile" → "About" → "Write to us". The same button is also available in the disqualification notice.
8.2. Appeals are accepted within 14 days of the decision; in a raffle, they are accepted until the draw takes place.
8.3. In your appeal, include the name of the challenge and explain why you disagree. Work-in-progress photos help us review your appeal: the blank page at the start and shots taken along the way.
8.4. Where possible, your appeal is reviewed by a different moderator. We respond within 3 business days.
8.5. If the decision is found to have been made in error, we restore the work, or your participation in the challenge together with the works removed upon disqualification. If you had completed the challenge, the badge is restored as well.
8.6. If the decision is upheld, we explain why. A further appeal against the same decision is considered only if there are new circumstances.
8.7. In quizzes, you can dispute the decision on a work in the App by tapping "Found a mistake?".
9.1. A challenge badge is awarded automatically once all the required works have been accepted: for every stage, card, or theme.
9.2. If a moderator removes a work and, without it, you do not meet the requirements for completing the challenge, the badge is revoked. While the challenge is running, you may submit a different work, and the badge will be awarded again.
9.3. A badge revoked as a result of an erroneous decision is restored together with the work.
9.4. One badge is awarded per challenge. A badge cannot be transferred, exchanged, or earned after the challenge has ended.
10.1. Raffle prizes are provided by ColorWave. Winners are selected by a random draw from among the participants whose raffle steps have all been accepted.
10.2. To take part in a raffle, you must:
a) receive a personal code in the App when you join the raffle;
b) take a photo of the blank page together with the code before you start coloring;
c) take a photo of the finished work together with the same code;
d) submit the photo of the work to the challenge;
e) if the raffle rules require it, post the work on social media. The post must be public, published on your regular account, and kept up until the draw. Posts in sections visible only to you (for example, "Saved Messages" in Telegram), posts in channels created solely for the raffle, and screenshots that do not show where the work was posted are not accepted. Tagging people in the photo who do not appear in it is prohibited.
10.3. A raffle step may be rejected for any of the following reasons: the code is not visible in the photo; the code in the photo does not match yours; the page in the "before" photo is not blank; the photo shows a different work; the link does not open or leads somewhere else; the post cannot be found at the link; the post does not mention the App; the screenshot does not confirm the post; or another reason stated in the moderator's comment. While the raffle is running, you may complete a rejected step again.
10.4. Participants whose steps have all been accepted at the time of the draw are entered into the draw. ColorWave employees and moderators, as well as participants disqualified from the challenge, are not entered. Each participant receives one number; a Pro subscription does not give any additional chances.
10.5. The draw is held once, after the raffle has ended and all works have been reviewed: the App randomly assigns numbers to the participants and selects the winners. The results are visible to all participants.
10.6. The rules of each raffle specify the submission period, the draw date, the number of winners, the prizes, and the countries to which the prize can be delivered.
10.7. If the raffle rules do not provide for delivery to your country, please do not take part in that raffle, as the prize cannot be awarded in that case.
10.8. The winner receives a notification of their win in the App and provides an email address so that we can arrange delivery. The winner must respond within 14 days. Otherwise, we may select another winner from among the participants entered into the draw or not award the prize.
10.9. Before awarding a prize, we may re-check the winner's works and ask the winner to confirm their age and delivery address. If a violation of these Rules is found, the prize is not awarded. If the winner is under 18 years of age, the prize is awarded with the consent of their parent or legal guardian.
10.10. Each participant may receive no more than one prize per raffle. A prize cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another person. If the stated prize cannot be awarded, we may replace it with a prize of equal value.
10.11. The prize is shipped within 2 months after we receive the delivery address.
11.1. You retain the rights to the works you submit, as provided in Section 4.1 of the Terms of Service.
11.2. A submitted work appears in the challenge feed and in the community gallery. All participants can see your work in the challenge feed, even if your profile is private. Works in time capsules are hidden until the opening date.
11.3. The "Completed" list shows the nicknames and avatars of participants who have completed the challenge. The nicknames, avatars, and draw numbers of raffle winners are visible to all participants.
11.4. By submitting a work to a challenge, you grant ColorWave a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use a photo of it in ColorWave's social media posts, including posts announcing challenge results, crediting you by your nickname in the App. If you do not want your work to be used in this way, write to us, and we will take down the post or refrain from using the work.
11.5. Deleting your account deletes all of your works and your participation in challenges, including raffles in which the draw has not yet taken place.
12.1. We may amend these Rules. The new version applies to works submitted after it is published. Before you next submit a work, the App will show you the updated Rules and ask you to accept them.
12.2. Once a challenge has started, its rules may be changed only to correct an error, clarify wording, or extend the deadline. Conditions are not made stricter: works accepted under the previous conditions remain accepted. We announce any changes in the App.
12.3. We may extend a challenge. We may cancel a challenge only in exceptional circumstances, where it can no longer be run fairly. We will announce in the App the reason for the cancellation and how badges and prizes will be handled.
12.4. If a work fails to upload or disappears because of an App error, write to us. If the error occurred on our side, we will restore the work, including after the challenge has ended.
12.5. We are not liable for connection, device, or third-party service failures. We recommend not leaving your submission until the last minutes of a challenge.
13.1. To run challenges, we process only the data necessary for participation, review of works, and the awarding of rewards. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
13.2. Other users can see your nickname, avatar, and accepted works in the challenge feed.
13.3. Moderators have access to the history of your works and the decisions made on them, dates from your photos and library, your country and App language, and information about your acceptance of these Rules.
13.4. Email addresses and prize delivery details are requested only from raffle winners and are used solely to award the prize.
14.1. If you have questions about challenges or these Rules, write to us in the App ("Edit profile" → "About" → "Write to us") or email us at welcome@colorwave.cc.
